ISLAMABAD: Nepal has invited businessmen from Pakistan to Kathmandu’s March 2024 Nepal Expo with their products to explore business opportunities and establish business networking in the Himalayan state.
The invitation was extended by Nepal’s Ambassador Tapas Adhikari on Thursday while addressing the Haripur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI). The ambassador visited the HCCI on the invitation of HCCI President Tayyab Khan Swati. He had a discussion with the business community, focusing on bilateral and regional economic cooperation, to expand economic opportunities in Pakistan and Nepal. Adhikari told his interlocutors that his government was following a liberal and investment-friendly policy regarding direct investment and other facilities available for business in Nepal.
Swati and HCCI members briefed the ambassador about Haripur and its economic contribution to Pakistan. The ambassador reminded the business community that the people of his country had enormous regards for the people of Pakistan and their culture. He later visited Froebel’s House School and College, Haripur, and interacted with teachers and students. Before returning to the federal capital, he visited the Hattar Industrial Zone (HIZ) and observed production facilities of few industrial units. With more than 400 manufacturing units, the zone is the biggest industrial zone in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He hoped that the HIZ would expand further and play a more effective role in the development of the country.
