IG for peaceful evacuation of illegal immigrants

LAHORE:Inspector General Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has said that the process of evacuation of illegal immigrants from all districts should be accelerated through coordination with special branch, CTD, security agencies and intelligence-based information.

He directed to ensure the peaceful evacuation of all illegal immigrants. He expressed these views Tuesday while presiding over a meeting on the evacuation of illegal immigrants at the Central Police Office.

In the meeting, IG reviewed progress in evacuation of illegal immigrants across Punjab. He said that respect to human rights should be ensured during the process. He stressed to keep a keen eye on illegal immigrants trying to hide by migrating from one district to another to avoid evacuation. IG Punjab said that unregistered children of immigrants in NADRA record would be counted as illegal resident citizens. He directed all RPOs, DPOs to speed up the process of evacuation of illegal immigrants under their own supervision.

Joint measures for axle load management on highways IG National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Sultan Ali Khawaja visited the Central Police Office.

IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar and IG National Highways and Motorway Police Sultan Ali Khawaja jointly chaired a meeting at the CPO.

During the meeting, it was agreed to strengthen the working relationship between Punjab Police and NH&MP to secure the highways. Punjab Highway Patrol and National Highways Police decided to ensure joint measures for axle load management on all the highways of the province.

IG Punjab said that both the organisations would take joint measures to prevent accidents on the roads due to heavy load traffic and effective implementation of laws. He directed to make coordination between PHP, Motorway and Traffic Police stronger. IG National Highways Sultan Ali Khawaja said that joint measures with Punjab Police on highways would improve the enforcement of axle load management rules and traffic management of heavy load vehicles would be more efficient.
