CHARSADDA: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar on Monday visited the residence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa late caretaker chief minister Azam Khan in the Prang area in Charsadda and offered condolences to the bereaved family.
Stringent security arrangements were put in place as heavy contingent of police personnel were deployed on almost all the chowks and roads leading to the family residence of late Azam Khan.
The district administration had also closed a postgraduate college, two each degree colleges for boys and girls and 13 primary schools due to the visit of caretaker prime minister.
Flanked by Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (r) Arshad Hussain Shah, the caretaker PM met Sikandar Azam Khan, the son of former caretaker chief minister Azam Khan and other family members and offered fateha for the departed soul.
The caretaker prime minister paid glowing tributes to late Azam Khan for his services for the country and his social welfare activities for the poor segments of society.He said that Azam Khan had also played a vital role in the development and promotion of education in the area.It may be mentioned that caretaker chief minister, Mohammad Azam Khan, had passed away on Saturday morning after a brief illness.
