LAHORE: The second phase of the annual congregation ‘Raiwind Tablighi Ijtema’ started Thursday, amid tight security arrangements. The ijtema will conclude on Nov 12.
According to sources, the districts and areas such as Kohat, Hangu, Kurram and Karzai Agency, Tirah, Darra Adam Khel, Sada, Mardan, Malakand, Dargai, Swabi, Ghazi, Tarbela, Gilgit, Besham, Battagram, Mansehra, Chilas, Abbottabad, Kohistan, Haripur, Torghar, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan, Lodhran, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal and Mandi Bahauddin are participating in the second and final session of Ijtema 2023.
Around six to seven lakh people are likely to participate. The arrival of delegates from abroad has already started. Around 205,000 people so far have reached the venue. It may be mentioned that data of citizens residing in nearby houses, hotels, guest houses, bus stops and railway stations has been collected through geo-fencing, biometric verification and Hotel Eye App.
