Dir Schools Sports Tournament kicks off

DIR: The All-Government and Private Schools Sports Tournament in Upper Dir district was inaugurated at Dir Stadium here.

The event, set to continue until November 18, 2023, witnessed the participation of a large number of teachers and students from various private and public schools.

District Education Officer (DEO) Abdul Rahman presided over the event as the chief guest, accompanied by Deputy DEO Muhammad Iqbal, District Sports Officer Sadiqullah and other officials.

In his address, the DEO said that such events played a significant role in fostering peace and a spirit of sportsmanship among the youth. He said that sports competitions were an integral part of the education curriculum, contributing to both physical and mental well-being. He encouraged students to enjoy the event and maintain a peaceful atmosphere.

DSO Sadiqullah expressed his commitment to providing all necessary facilities to the students and assured cooperation with the education officials. He said that events were being organised on the directive of KP Secretary Sports Hameedullah Khan in various areas.

Another Education Department official, Ghulam Wahid, also spoke on the occasion.As part of the event, students also presented Hamd, Naat, and the national anthem.
