Farhan stuns Abbas in squash tourney

KARACHI: Unseeded Muhammad Farhan pulled off an upset against eighth seed Abbas Maniar in the first round of PARCO-Roshan Khan Open Squash 2016 here at PN Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex Fleet Club.
Farhan proved too good for Abbas in the match and took only 23 minutes to record a convincing 11-8, 11-7, 11-9 victory to secure an unexpected place in the second round.
Seventh seed Zahir Shah dropped a set before beating qualifier Mohammad Naeem by 11-8, 11-7, 3-11, 11-8 in 33 minutes.
Sixth seed Asim Khan faced tough resistance from qualifier Amaad Fareed and took 57 minutes to beat him 15-13, 11-2, 7-11, 11-9.
Israr Ahmed overpowered Bilal Zakir by 11-9, 11-9, 11-7 in 32 minutes.
