LAHORE: Senior analyst Najam Sethi has said that some members of the PTI want to be involved in horse-trading. He was talking to Aapas ki Baat host Muneeb Farooq on Geo News. Giving an in-depth analysis on the recent political scenario, he said Imran Khan is turning into a traditional politician and has seen through the fact that there are no rules in politics. Therefore, he has dismissed many principled decisions. He said Imran fears that the PTI may not get two of expected six Senate seats. Many MPAs in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa are not pleased with Imran Khan and had not good intentions. Instead, Imran wants polls as per law. On the other hand, Asif Zardari is using money and wants some horse-trading in his favour, Sethi said and added the PPP may have seat adjustment with the PML-N and if it gets the Senate chairman seat it may agree to the 22nd amendment which cannot be approved without the PPP nod. That is why, Imran has made a phone call to Asif Zardari who will hold talks with Nawaz Sharif and then all will stand together. Sethi said Imran has realized that he is reverting his decisions about the sit-in and judicial commission to discard impression about his defeat, and wants the way out which Nawaz is ready to give him. He said Imran wants to go back to assemblies but also wants constitution of judicial commission on which he will compromise later. He said Imran had committed follies vis-à-vis the media also. He tried to overtake the media by lying, which he must not have done. If he does good politics, the media will support him. Sethi said there are no differences between Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto. The clashes between a father and son are usual. Bilawal believes that Zardari’s politics has helped him survive for five years but has damaged the party, turning into a local party from national party. However, they will settle their differences with give and take policy. He said the prime minister has not been invited to Saudi Arabia, instead he has been summoned to Saudi Arabia to be briefed about new Saudi policy and the nature of Saudi funding in Pakistan. He said Saudi Arabia had given Rs 1.5 billion to Pakistan to desist it from having friendship with Iran. Meanwhile, Iran is going to hold talks with the P5 Plus One countries whose failure will prompt Saudi Arabia to take up hardline against Iran and for this purpose Saudi Arabia will need Pakistan. America and Saudi Arabia had decided to perturb Iran in case of failure of these talks and use Jundullah for this purpose, Sethi said and added Saudi Arabia will apprise Nawaz Sharif that this outfit will be directed at Iran. He said the measures to counter the danger of ISIS in the Gulf states will also be discussed. Saudi and Gulf states had asked Pakistan to export its retired soldiers to these countries for which a private security agency in Pakistan has already started recruitment. About Pakistan team’s victory against Zimbabwe, Sethi said the morale of Pakistan team has not fallen altogether. We must support our national team. Many people are harming the team merely for their personal interest or enmity with me, Sethi concluded.
