Two convicts hanged in Sialkot jail

SIALKOT: Two murder convicts were hanged in the District Jail amid tight security on Saturday morning.
They are Nasir Mehmood s/o Allah Ditta and Tahir Iqbal s/o Bashir. According to the jail sources, the convicts had gunned six members of a family over an old enmity in 2002 at Mohallah Aliabad, Narowal district. They were awarded death sentence by an anti-terrorism court. Meanwhile, the bodies of the hanged convicts were handed over to their families.
MAN STRANGLES SISTER: A man killed his sister over a domestic dispute at Pero Bhadal village in the limits of Qila Kalarwala police station on Saturday.
Jehangir allegedly strangled his sister Tania and escaped. On the other hand, the locals have termed the incident an honour killing. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
