Chinese delegation inaugurates Gwadar Port Free Zone
GWADAR: The head of a 61-member delegation from the Chinese province of Xinjian on Monday inaugurated the Gwadar Port Free Zone.
Gwadar Port Chairman Dostian Khan Jamaldini said the port would prove to be a game changer for Pakistan and serve as a gateway and centre for economic and commercial activities, adding that it would strengthen the international economy as well.
Earlier, the delegation led by Zhang Chunxian, was received by the Balochistan governor and other officials at the airport. Zhang said there were immense opportunities for investment in Gwadar and China was interested in investing in various sectors, adding that his country was actively taking steps for developing Gwadar. Later, at a ceremony, he provided uniforms to the students of Model High School and GDA School Gwadar. Some 3,000 students of other schools would also be provided uniforms.
