Huner-e-Hawwa Mela concludes

PESHAWAR: The three-day Huner-e-Hawwa Mela concluded on Sunday with spectacular firework and traditional programmes, which were enjoyed by the participants and visitors alike.

Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Dr Mehr Taj Roghani was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony.

Besides a large number of families, children and women, Member National Assembly Nafeesa Khattak, former member provincial assembly Shagufta Malik, Noor Jahan, Vice-Chancellor University of Swabi, Maryam Bibi from Khwendo Kor, Roohi Zahir Shah from Girls Guide, journalists Farzana Ali and Sadia Qasim Shah, Faiza Babar, entrepreneur, and others visited the festival and participated in various activities.

They evinced a keen interest in the products and handicrafts put on display. The traditional and cultural programmes were enjoyed by all.

The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) had organised the event for the skilled women entrepreneurs to showcase their products and handicrafts and boost income of their families.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mehr Taj Roghani said that organising such events was a good step for the women and families.

She said that Huner-e-Hawwa Mela provided an opportunity to the women for recreation as well as business to exhibit their skills and talents.

Later, the chief guest distributed awards and prizes among the 50 outstanding women entrepreneurs and artisans.A debate on “Women Empowerment” was held.Zeek Afridi, Shafaq Ali, Shena Gul, Rizwana Khan, Bakhtiar Khattak and other famous artistes performed at the evening.
