KARACHI: The Sindh government has withdrawn the name of Dr Asim Hussain from the search committee for the selection of heads of public sector universities and educational boards.
Dr Asim has enjoyed himself the most senior position of search committee for last many years. Dr Asim, who is in the custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on the corruption charges, is still holding the position of Chairman of Sindh Higher Education Commission.
In an official notification copy available with ‘The News’ Sindh Chief Secretary on the directions of Sindh Chief Minister re-constituted the search committee by dropping the name of Dr Asim. Newly constituted Committee is comprised of sister of Asif Zardari MNA Dr Azra Pechoho, Fazul Rehman, Sindh former chief secretary Professor Mazhar-ul-Haq Siddiqi, Secretary to Sindh Chief Minister for Universities and Boards and on Co-opted member.
