Polio supervisor shot dead in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: Unidentified gunmen shot dead a polio supervisor in Landikotal tehsil in Khyber Agency on Saturday night, officials said.
A local resident, on the condition of anonymity, told The News that around 8:45pm three masked persons came to Akhtar Khan’s health outlet in Ashrafkhel village and opened fire on him. He received several bullets on his head and chest.
He was rushed to the Agency Headquarters Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
When contacted, Assistant Political Agent Rahimullah Khan Mahsud said the alleged killer identified as Hayatullah, who had been nominated by the son of the deceased person, was arrested and shifted to the lock-up for interrogation.
