Rain fails to dampen spirits of high-achievers

The speakers at the annual prize distribution ceremony of Anglo Arabic Higher Secondary School, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, Sunday, made it clear upon the students that success always comes with hard work and there were no shortcuts to it. “It is a result of dedication, hard work as well as learning from failure.”
The speakers urged the students to keep their dreams alive and understand that in order to achieve anything in life they should have faith and belief in themselves. You should always remember that success in life does not come easy, it is a result of hard work, as determination, and dedication always pay the dividend.
The annual result day is a day of joy and relaxation till it is time to get back to the grind! The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Old Boys Association General Secretary Rizwan Khalil Shamsi as well as other members of the association graced the ceremony as guests of honour.
Keeping in view the inclement weather, the school administration made special arrangements for the ceremony. The top position holders as well as their parents were specially invited for the event.
Principal Lieutenant Colonel (r) Tariq Hamid presented a summary of the academic and co-curricular activities of the school.
The principal in his welcome speech praised the faculty members for their determination and devotion in imparting education, which was evident from the high percentage of result, which stood at as Junior Section (98%), Boys Wing (86.9%) and Girls Wing (94.8%) stood respectively, whereas the overall pass percentage of the school remained 93%. He pointed out that around 331 students bagged A+ grade and 147 A grades, showing a high percentage of students in high grades.
He also congratulated the parents for their role in success of their kids, while urging those who lagged behind to pick up their socks and work hard this coming year. He also asked the parents to at least dedicate some of their precious time for their kids and help them in their studies to make them better prepared in their studies.
Later, Old Boys Association General Secretary Rizwan Khalil Shamsi addressed the audience, highlighting the efforts made over past years in evolving the school into a role model for society. He also mentioned the elevation of school from public secondary school level to higher secondary level. He also pointed out the success of school students on 2015 SSC examination held under Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rawalpindi which remained 100% wherein around 80% students bagged first division. He also announced incentives for the students who will appear in SSC exam 2016.
Rizwan Khalil Shamsi also pointed out that the security team of Punjab government which visited the school time and again to check the security measures adopted by the school has declared them to be the best in the region. He also pointed out that many educational institutions have started adopting the security measures implemented by the Anglo Arabic Higher Secondary School.
Rizwaz Khalil Shamsi also mentioned the holding of Anglo Premier League held in December 2015, which inculcated a sense of sportsman sprit among the students.
In the end, the prize distribution ceremony was held. There was a nice gesture on part of the school administration to invite parents of the top position holders from Montessori Wing to award shields and certificates to their children. In order to create a sense of competition among teachers as well as other staff members, best teachers in junior, boys and girls wings as well as administrative staff were also awarded shields and certificates.
