‘Free treatment facility in hospitals ensured’

Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, Punjab, Ali Jan Khan has that as per direction of the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, solid steps have been taken to provide best medical treatment facilities and provision of free medicines to the patients at primary and secondary healthcare hospitals.

He stated this during his visit to the District Headquarters Hospital, Kasur, according to a handout issued here on Wednesday. DCO Salman Ghani and Additional Secretary Chief Minister’s Secretariat Amir Karim also accompanied the Secretary.

Ali Jan Khan visited different wards of the hospital, including OPD and Dialysis Unit. He took notice of a dysfunctional dialysis machine and directed the Medical Superintendent to get the machine repaired immediately. He inquired from the patients about the facilities and provision of free medicines who expressed satisfaction over medical facilities and provision of medicines to them and said that arrangements in the hospital had improved. 

Secretary Health directed that a mechanism with the help of information technology experts should be evolved for provision of medical facilities in outdoor and a database about the patients also be prepared. Ali Jan Khan directed early completion of Yellow Room for disposal of hospital waste. He observed that significant improvement had been recorded in the healthcare delivery system at primary and secondary level, including BHUs, RHCs, THQ and DHQ hospitals due to the effective implementation of Chief Minister’s Health Road Map Programme. He said that E-Monitoring system had been introduced due to which presence of doctors and the staff, availability of medicines as well as coverage of routine immunisation had improved substantially.

He said that special attention was being paid to provide dialysis facilities to the kidney patients at DHQ and THQ hospitals. Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and performance of the hospital.
