Dolly Parton's niece reveals: 'never seen aunt Dolly without makeup'
Dolly Parton's niece shares childhood memories of raiding her wardrobe
Jada Star, Dolly Parton's niece and daughter of country music legend's younger sister Frieda, recently shared an intriguing tidbit about her famous aunt.
Despite her efforts as a child, she confessed she's never caught Dolly "un-glammed."
Instead, she reminisced about moments raiding her aunt's wardrobe and trying on her iconic blonde wigs.
Reflecting on a memorable family trip to Hawaii, Jada recalled her failed attempt to catch Dolly bare-faced.
"I remember one night I tried my hardest to wake up earlier than everyone else so I could see her without makeup, but it didn't happen," she shared with The Mirror.
"I've never seen her un-glammed in my life – there's only ever been a handful who have. But from what I've heard, you'd still know it's her. She's naturally beautiful."
Dolly's niece, who is making waves in her own right as a performer and recently appeared on reality show Claim To Fame, further praised her aunt's timeless beauty.
"She jokes about all the unnatural stuff and all the nips and tucks, but if you see pictures of her as a teenager she's a bombshell," Jada remarked.
"She's stunning – she's always been beautiful, on the inside and out."
Her beauty regimen has a surprising twist – she's been sleeping in her makeup every night for years, and it's not just about vanity.
The iconic singer revealed her unusual habit in her book, Behind The Seams: My Life In Rhinestones, explaining that it all began in the 1980s.
Parton confessed, "When I arrived in LA in the 80s, I started sleeping with my makeup on, partly because of the earthquakes."
She elaborated, "I thought, 'I’m not heading out on the streets without makeup in case there are cameras out there! I’m going to be ready to go!'"
But don't worry, cleanliness isn't compromised for glamour.
The singer ensures her face is properly cleaned in the morning before applying another layer of makeup.
"It doesn’t matter when you clean your face as long as you clean it once a day," she emphasized. "After I wake up, I do all the little rituals, and then I start over again and go out every day and look good all day long."
