Colin Jost, The Saturday Night Live star, made an offensive quip over his wife, Scarlett Johansson and her body during the “Weekend Update” segment of the Season 49 finale of NBC’s Emmy-winning late-night comedy series on Saturday.
“ChatGBT has released a new voice assistant feature inspired by Scarlett Johansson’s AI character in Her,” Jost began while laughing softly.
“Which I’ve never bothered to watch, because without that body, what’s the point of listening?” he said.
The joke came as a shock to the audience and was a part of a traditional routine in which Jost and his co-host Michael Che write jokes for each other. Then they read the jabs out loud live without having seen them beforehand.
As far as the joke in question is concerned, Che obviously tricked the 41-year-old into making fun of his wife.
However, Jost had poked fun at the Black Widow star before as well, being married to her since 2020.
Jost name-dropped Johansson at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, thanking her for “agreeing to individually meet everyone in this room”, and encouraging everyone to “come right up” to her.
