Sarah Ferguson could help prop her daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie up before the royal family in the face of current crisis.
Speaking to GB News, royal historian Gareth Russell reflected on the possibility of the daughters of Fergie and disgraced Prince Andrew being promoted to working royals.
For the unversed, King Charles is believed to be dealing with a crisis of ‘slimmed-down monarchy’ following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit and most recently, Kate Middleton being out of sorts due to cancer diagnosis.
"We've seen Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have very prominent positions at things like Christmas events,” he said.
"Obviously that's more private, but there does seem to have been a reconciliation between the Windsors and the former Duchess of York,” Russell continued.
"I would be surprised if we would see either of the princesses being demoted or ignored in the future simply because of their father's actions,” he added.
Gareth’s presumption isn’t unfounded; the Duchess of York has long shared a close bond with the royals despite her divorce from Andrew over 30 years ago.
Though she is not a working royal, Fergie frequently makes public appearance on family events, including Christmas and Easter.
