Selena Gomez has recently addressed her viral comment about retiring from music on a Smartless podcast in January.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the singer and actress clarified, “It’s not that it’s, ‘no, never’” when it comes to music.”
However, the songstress continued, “I anticipate taking breaks as I want to focus more on acting.”
“I think it’s natural for people to take breaks, but I think for me, there is a whole other aspect to my life, pride and joy,” said the Grammy-nominated artist.
Selena “I love film. I love TV. I just feel like I haven’t done a lot of the things that I want to do in that space.”
The Only Murders in the Building star added, “It’s more that I would like to explore that world a bit more and have the time to actually do that.”
She told the outlet, “I love being able to take roles that I have to fight for, not the ones that are being handed to me. I’m going for the stuff that really, really inspires me.”
“I am going to want to chill because I’m tired. I wanted to be an actress, I never really intended on being a singer full-time, but apparently that hobby turned into something else,” dished the songstress.
Selena recalled, “I am having a lot of fun with music early in my career.”
However, “the older I get, the more I’m kind of like, I would like to find something to just settle on,” added the singer.
