Jamie Foxx is set to unveil the details of his near-death health scare in 2023 through an upcoming comedy special.
Foxx experienced a sudden illness in April while filming Back In Action, and disclosed in December of the same year that he endured a harrowing battle for survival, mentioning that he "saw the tunnel but not the light."
However, he has yet to disclose the specific cause of his illness.
During his appearance at the African American Film Critics Association's annual luncheon honoring Black excellence at the 7th Annual AAFCA Special Achievement Awards, he announced the forthcoming show while accepting the AAFCA’s Producers Award for his company, Foxxhole Productions.
Speaking to People, he expressed his gratitude, stating, "I’m so thankful and I get emotional because it’s beyond the scope.
I had some people in my life that really made sure I was here because it was dire straits."
He further added, "Everybody wants to know what happened and I’m gonna tell you what happened but I got to do it in my way," before unveiling the comedy special.
