Millie Bobby Brown took fans through the “crazy” experience of her fiancé Jake Bongiovi popping the question to her for the first time.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 20-year-old actress revealed the proposal went wrong when Jake decided to put the ring on their whirlwind relationship underwater.

The Stranger Things star explained the couple was on a vacation when the son of Jon Bon Jovi decided to take her diving at 8 a.m. in the morning to their usual spot.

As they slowly got under, he presented her a shell containing the ring. Brown went on to mimic their expressions as they both struggled to speak due to their diving gear.

She shared Jake motioned to go up, adding, “Because this means, ‘I wanna go up,’ so that technically would mean like, ‘No, I don't want to marry you, I want to go up.’”

Hence, the actress made a hand gesture to signify she would marry him as she quipped to Fallon, “I think it was underwhelming, but we freaked out anyway.”

The romantic proposal didn’t end there though; the Enola Holmes star revealed the ring plummeted deep into the water when she tried showing him the ring on her hand.

“It was like a cinematic movie!” Millie exclaimed.

Without wasting a second, Jake chased after the ring by throwing himself “so deep, the diver was like, ‘You can’t do that. Your ears. Literally, your brain will explode,’” she continued, adding: “He throws himself, he does a a cinematic like grab, opens, and he saved the ring.”

Brown adds, 'We got to the top, and he was like, "Do you want to marry me?" And I was like, "Oh, yeah. I mean, yeah that would be -- you should probably ask me."

The young couple eventually got to the top where Jake popped the question to the star once again, this time with her mother’s ring which she prohibited him from taking him underwater.

“My mum was like, ‘Absolutely not, Jake. You're not taking my ring down there. I know you'll drop it,’ and sure enough he did,” Brown joked.

“She was right so when we got up on the boat, he was like, ‘This is your mum's ring, and I got it from your parents.’ And it was very magical,” the Damsel actress gushed.

“And his parents were there and we just looked so disheveled coming out from a a dive. We were like, ‘We're engaged, but also we have to tell you this crazy story that just happened,'” she added.
