‘Tulsa King’ announces major changes for season 2
The show premiered on Paramount + in 2022
The drama surrounding the crime series Tulsa King takes another turn as writer and showrunner Terence Winter is reportedly rejoining the team for season 2.
This comes after Winter's departure last year due to reported "creative differences" with the show's creator, Taylor Sheridan.
Winter, an Emmy-winning writer known for his work on The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire, initially led Tulsa King during its successful first season. However, in 2023, news broke of his exit, leaving the project's future uncertain.
According to sources close to the production, Winter will now primarily focus on writing for season 2, collaborating closely with series star Sylvester Stallone.
This new arrangement reportedly allows Winter to limit his interaction with Sheridan, potentially addressing the previous "creative differences." Additionally, the show will be bringing in a new executive producer and director to fill the showrunner role previously held by Winter.
"He loves these characters and loved working with Sly and was glad his post-strike schedule allowed him to return to write but not run the show," a source told The Hollywood Reporter.
The return of Winter comes as a surprise to some, considering the reported tension between him and Sheridan.
The news has received mixed reactions from fans, with some expressing excitement at Winter's return while others remain concerned about the potential for lingering creative conflicts.
