Islamabad: The European Union (EU) and GIZ will sign an agreement on December 2 to support technical education and vocational training sector in Pakistan.

The agreement signing ceremony will take place at a local hotel.

Ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan Jean-François Cautain, GIZ Pakistan country director Dr. Julie Reviere, NAVTTC executive director Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema and
German ambassador Ina Lepel will also attend the event.

After successful implementation of two projects (TVET I and II) in the TVET sector during the past five years, support from the European Union will be extended for the implementation of a third programme (TVET III) which is expected to begin in January 2017.

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH will continue to implement the programme as lead technical agency in close collaboration with the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission and other public and private sector organisations across the country.
