Balakot Nazim cancels contracts worth Rs46m
MANSEHRA: Tehsil Nazim, Balakot, Rustam Khan, cancelled the contracts of development schemes worth Rs46 million after the contractors stormed his office and alleged favoritism in awarding contracts on Wednesday. The angry contractors interrupted the process of opening tenders after storming the office of the nazim and threatened him with dire consequences if the process was not cancelled.
They also shouted slogans against what they said corrupt officials of TMA who wanted to award contracts to their blue eyed. The contractors also staged a protest outside the TMA offices and raised slogans against officials.
Rustam Khan told reporters that the tenders were cancelled and new date would be fixed for the tendering process. He said the attitude of contractors deprived the people of Balakot of development schemes.
