MANSEHRA: Hundreds of passengers suffered as the Karakoram Highway (KKH) and Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad road, which was blocked at various points by heavy snowfall couldn’t be reopened to traffic on Friday.

The district administration and the National Highway Authority (NHA) reopened the KKH at Chaterplain, but traffic was not allowed to ply the highway owing to dangerous curves in the limits of Battagram and Kohistan districts.

The traffic remained suspended on the second consecutive day at Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad road and a team of district administration and NHA was busy clearing its blocked portion. The traffic on Oghi-Battagram road also remained suspended on the second day as the heavy snow, which blocked the road, couldn’t be removed. Many link roads in Kaghan valley, Siran valley and Konsh valley remained blocked as the snow couldn’t be removed.

Meanwhile, the body of a man, Anwar Zeb, who was buried alive under an avalanche in Khatta Tanawal area of Oghi, was found on Friday.
