Land record management

LAHORE

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the work on land record computerisation has almost been completed and it will eliminate patwari culture.

He said that this important step of the Punjab government was a milestone in the elimination of corruption and provision of best facilities to the masses.

He said the modern land record management and information system had been launched in all tehsils of the province. He said that services centres in 143 tehsils of Punjab were fully operational and providing services to the masses.

He was addressing a meeting regarding land record management and information system, here Thursday. The chief minister also approved recruitment of more staff for the project.

He said that land record management and information system had made it possible to obtain ‘fard’ and complete the process of transfer of land within minutes. 

He said provision of documents and other matters relating to land was possible under one roof due to this project; with the computerisation of land record, a big facility had been provided to the people and this project of the Punjab government worth billions of rupees was providing relief to the common man in the real sense.

He directed that an autonomous and independent authority should be set up at the earliest for the implementation of the project in future and final recommendations be presented after evolving a comprehensive framework for computerisation of urban land record. He said that appreciation of land record computerised system project by World Bank Mission was a proof of splendid performance of the Punjab government and the institutions concerned and officers deserved all-out credit. 

Economists: A representative delegation of renowned industrialists and economists called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, here Thursday and discussed proposals for promotion of economy and investment, increase in exports and creation of job opportunities. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that economy had been put on the right direction during the last two and a half years under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Overseas Pakistanis: A representative delegation of Overseas Pakistanis led by President Pakistan Muslim League-N Middle East Ch. Noor-ul-Hassan Tanvir met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. 

Talking to the delegation, the chief minister said service to the people was the pivot of politics of the PML-N and revolutionary programmes had been started under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the welfare of the people and raising the living standard of the masses. 

He said the Punjab government had set up the Overseas Pakistanis Commission for resolving the problems of overseas Pakistanis. He said that Overseas Pakistani Commission was playing an active role for immediate resolution of the problems of overseas Pakistanis in Punjab. Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Punjab Afzaal Bhatti was also present.
