Ex-Pesco CEO gets 6-month jail

PESHAWAR: An anti-terrorism court on Saturday handed down six-month jail term to the former chief executive officer (CEO) of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) in a case pertaining to the contempt of court.
The court also imposed Rs1 million as fine on Parvez Akhtar Shah. The inquiry revealed that during his service from 1978 to 2015 in Wapda, he allegedly acquired a number of valuable plots of land in Peshawar and also in Islamabad and its adjacent areas.
