German Ambassador Ina Lepel visited Roots Millennium Schools (RMS) German Language Pasch Programme classrooms at RMS Wahid International Campus, F-10/2, on Monday and held talk with students about academic opportunities in Germany, says a press release.

The ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany was welcomed by the Chief Executive Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq and RMS German Language Department along with faculty and enthusiastic students waving the Pakistan and Germany flags.  The ceremony started with a welcoming address by the RMS German Language Department director, wherein she shared the ambassador’s extensive diplomatic profile with the students.

Speaking to the Millennials at German Language Classroom about academic prospects in Germany, Ambassador Ina Lepel encouraged students to join German academic institutions that offer courses both in English and German. The programmes and scholarships, she said, are diverse and offered by many institutions in her country. She also appreciated RMS for offering German language classes to their students.

Some Millennials who had attended the German Summer Camp (sponsored by the Goethe Institute) in Germany and India came forward and regaled the audience with their experiences. The event was a visual treat for all present. German Programme Senior Manager Mona Kanwal shared her thoughts on the success of the German language programme. Her comments were supported by RMS Chief Executive Faisal Mushtaq, who expressed his views on the role played by an academic institute in teaching a foreign language like German and Chinese in contributing towards making students truly global citizens. The chief guest then took center stage and expressed her appreciation at the students’ fluency and mastery over German.

The ceremony concluded with a campus tour for the chief guest by the RMS, Wahid Campus principal, whereby she was shown various departments, facilities and beautiful stalls decorated by German language students.  The German ambassador’s visit is an undertaking that furthers the mission and commitment of the RMS to develop the right set of skills, attitudes, knowledge and values within graduating Millennials so that they can confidently meet the global challenges of the 21st century.
