FIR registered for torturing security official
People were trying to kill Major Mohsin

RAWALPINDI: The FIR of the incident that happened on the Range Road here on Wednesday has been registered at the Race Course police station and five persons nominated have been arrested.
According to the FIR, Major Mohsin Sagheer told the police that he was posted at the GHQ. On Wednesday at about 5.30pm, he was going in a car to his residence after performing duty in uniform. When he reached the petrol pump on Range Road, a rickshaw suddenly applied brakes and to save collusion, he also stopped but a motorcycle coming from behind collided with his car.
He said that he came out of his vehicle and after seeing that only minor scratches had appeared on his vehicle and later he enquired about the motorcycle (No RIT 8032) rider Rameez, son of Allah Dad. But the woman, Alia, sitting on the bike started abusing him. He said that he tried unsuccessfully to console them saying that they might be getting late, so let it be gone but as soon he turned, the motorcycle rider shouted at him by saying, “You may transfer this uniform to your mother after going home.”
Then he turned to leave but in hurry his hand touched the Rameez left eye. He said that he tried to catch hold the back light of the motorcycle and his hand slipped and the motorcycle lost balance and both of them fell down. He said that he tried to approach them but passersby surrounded him. Despite his efforts to explain the situation, they started a scuffle. The major said that he entered his car and closed its doors. On the insistence of the public, he was forced to park his vehicle in front of a plaza and his car was surrounded by the public. They abused him and pelted stones on him in the car. He said that the angry mob injured him and badly damaged the car.
He said that the mob of around 150 was insisting on killing him after pulling out of the car. Prominent among them were Prof Liaquat who was instigating the mob. Others could be identified as Mansab Khan, S/o Adam Khan, Adnan, S/o Abdul Khaliq, Muhammad Ramzan, S/o Abdul Sattar, Muhammad Junaid, S/o Safeerullah, and Danish Lateef, S/o Abdul Lateef.
Meanwhile, the police reached the scene, controlled the situation and took him out of the car after talking to the mob. He said in the FIR that action might be taken against all those responsible with compensation for the damage inflicted to his car.
Sub Inspector Mazhar Hussain in his statement wrote in the FIR that after reaching the place of incident, police reinforcements were called from other police stations through wireless control. About 150 people gathered on the spot were told legal action would be taken against the responsible person. But some miscreants including Prof Liaquat, etc, kept on instigating the mob.
The mob started pelting stones on the vehicle of Maj Mohsin that damaged it. They wanted to kill Maj Mohsin after taking him out. The police saved Maj Mohsin but he was injured.
Taking advantage of the scuffle by the mob some unknown person snatched the 9mm pistol, along magazine and 15 rounds from Major Mohsin. Police held nine motorcycles belonging to the mob. The Race Course Police registered a case under section 392, 186, 324, 427, 341, 342, 147, and 149.
The SHO Race Course police station said that five persons nominated in the FIR including Mansab Khan, Adnan, Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Junaid and Danish Latif had been arrested. According to SHO, no application was received from the brother and sister who were riding the motorcycle.
