The traders have demanded of the government to reduce tax burden from the common people with most of them are now no more able to afford even basic commodities being sold in the markets.
Raja Fayyaz Gul, president of Traders Welfare Association I-8 Markaz, said the government must decrease prices of household commodities to provide relief to the common people who are finding it hard to make their both ends meet.
"If the government continues to raise tax ratio then the people would not be able to face the increasing price hike. We hope that the upcoming budget will bring some good news with regard to reduction in the taxes taken from the people," he said.
Muhammad Ajmal Baloch, president Anjuman Tajran Pakistan, said the elected members always tried to increase their salaries and allowances so members of the provincial and national assemblies and senate should reduce their expenditures as the tax payers are no more able to finance their lavish lifestyle.
Muhammad Hussain, general secretary of Traders Welfare Association Super Market, said the government should reduce the tax burden from the common people as they are withdrawing their money from banks due to controversial tax mechanism introduced by the incumbent government.
Abdul Rehman Siddique, general secretary of Traders Welfare Association Jinnah Super Market, said the tax ratio must be reduced because this is the only way to bring down prices of electricity and petroleum products to control price hike in the country.
