APNS, PBA delegation meets Dar
ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar here on Sunday held a meeting with delegation comprising senior representatives of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) and Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA).
The delegation comprised of Sarmad Ali, Mujeebur Rehman Shami, Ms Rameeza Majeed Nizami, Zia Shahid, Arshad Zuberi, Mian Aamir Mehmood, Mehtab Khan, Mir Ibrahim Rahman, Basit Sheikh, Umar Shami and others.
The delegation apprised the minister about the issues faced by print and electronic media and also briefed him about their budget proposals, said a statement issued by Ministry of Finance here.
The minister said that media had an important role to play in both informing and educating people. He said the present government had taken measures aimed at providing an enabling environment to media in undertaking its professional obligations and wished to further expand and prosper.
The minister added that all possible facilitation would be accorded to print and electronic media in the upcoming budget in the light of the proposals put forth by the delegation. The delegation thanked the minister for the meeting and assured support in terms of projecting government’s efforts aimed at economic development of the country.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Haroon Akhtar Khan, Chairman FBR Nisar Mohammad Khan, senior officials of the Ministry of Finance and FBR were present in the meeting.
