Two die in road accidents

LAHORE

Two men were killed in separate road accidents on Thursday. 

A vehicle hit and injured a 25-year-old man, Abdul Bari,  in the Sanda police area when he was trying to cross Bund Road. He was shifted to hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.  Police are searching for the accused vehicle driver.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man, Waris, was going on a bike when a vehicle of Lahore Electric Supply Company hit and injured him  near Sultan Mehmood Road in the Baghbanpura police area. He was shifted to hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. Police have registered a case and arrested the suspected driver, Danish.

Both bodies have been removed to morgue.

bodies found: Two men, unidentified so far, were found dead in different parts of the city on Thursday.A 65-year-old man was found dead in the Harbanspura police area. A passerby informed police about the man lying unconscious. Police shifted him to hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.

Meanwhile, a 55-year-old man was found dead in the Bhatti Gate police jurisdiction.A passerby informed police about the man lying unconscious. Police removed him to hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. Both bodies have been removed to morgue. Respective police said both men looked drug addicts and might have died of overdoses of drugs, however, autopsy would help ascertain the cause of their deaths. Police are searching for their families.

accidents: At least 677 road accidents were reported to the Provincial Monitoring Cell of Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122, from all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Ten people were killed and 528 critically injured in the accidents. The injured were removed to hospitals. Some 253 people also sustained minor injuries and they were provided first aid by emergency medical teams on the spot.
