Time for amnesty is over: Ghani

ISLAMABAD: Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani in his Tweet said on Wednesday that the Afghan government had done all to bring peace and put an end to the violence. But the call was never reciprocated and thus time for unjustified amnesty was over now.

 

Two awarded death for killing their three brothers

FAISALABAD: Anti-Terrorist Court Judge Raja Pervaiz Akhtar on Wednesday awarded death sentence on six counts to two brothers, Amir Ali and Murtaza, for killing three of their brothers. The court also awarded life imprisonment with Rs 7 million fine to each convict. The court, however, acquitted Zahida Bibi and Zubaida Bibi giving them the benefit of the doubt. According to the prosecution, Amir Ali and Murtaza burnt three of their brothers, Niaz Ahmad, Anwar Hassan and Ghulam Murtaza, alive over distribution of property in March 2005 at Chak 455/GB. The convicts also set their house on fire.

 

51 suspects arrested in Risalpur search

NOWSHERA: The law enforcement agencies arrested 51 suspected persons during a search operation in Risalpur and adjoining areas, police sources said on Wednesday.They said that the law enforcement agencies launched a joint search and strike operation in Risalpur, Rashakai, Kotarpan, Shirin Kotay and Mera Kheshgi and arrested 51 suspected persons. Eight Kalashnikovs, four Kalakovs, eight rifles and 32 pistols were also recovered from them, they added.
