LAHORE
A fresh westerly wave, which has affected upper and central parts of the country and may persist during the next 24 hours, has brought down the temperature of provincial capital by almost seven degrees relieving the citizens of continued heat wave.
The Met office said low pressure area lies over north Balochistan with its trough extending southeastward. They said the maximum temperature in Lahore came down to 35 C on Monday, which was recorded as 42 C on Sunday.
The office predicted hot and dry weather in most parts of the country. However, they said light rain-thunderstorm with strong gusty winds/dust storm is expected at scattered places of upper KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan divisions), Islamabad, upper Punjab (Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Lahore divisions), FATA, GB and Kashmir while at isolated places Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Multan, DI Khan, Bannu divisions. Dust raising winds is also expected at few places of DG Khan.
