Pakistan to support Maldives in education
Islamabad: Pakistan has assured Maldives of support and cooperation in the education sector, especially in the fields of medicine and engineering.
The assurance was given by Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Muhammad Balighur Rehman to Deputy Education Minister of Maldives Azleen Ahmed and his delegation during a meeting here on Thursday.
The state minister told visitors about the education scenario in Pakistan and about the projects of his ministry.
He also informed them about the Higher Education Commission, TVET policy, minimum standards of education, curriculum development, and determination of the government to fulfil the Sustainable Development Goals 4.
He also told them about the increase in literacy and enrolment rates, decrease in dropout rate, and increase in provincial education budgets over the period of two years.
“We would love to assist, facilitate and to collaborate with our Maldivians friends,” he said.
Deputy Education Minister Azleen Ahmed thanked the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional training for receiving their delegation in Pakistan with great warmth.
He said that the Government of Pakistan always supported Maldives in one way or the other and therefore, the relationship between the two countries is very different from other countries.
“We are brothers, we will always be there for Pakistan whenever our support is required by them,” he said.
Azleen Ahmed added that President of Maldives has already extended an invitation to Prime Minister of Pakistan to visit Maldives.
