Critics of welfare projects enemies of prosperity: CM
Says politics of compromise on national interests caused huge loss
LAHORE
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the pivot of the politics of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is the welfare of the common man.
He said today’s Pakistan is stronger economically as compared to 2013. He said under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the journey of peace and illumination is continuing with the determination that Pakistan is all of us and will be put on the road to progress and prosperity. Promise of a peaceful, economically stable and safer Pakistan will be fulfilled, he added.
He said the politics of compromise on national interests over personal interests has caused a huge loss to the country. He said the PML-N government is forwarding the programme of development of the country as a mission and has launched programmes of billions of rupees for public welfare. He said that those criticising unduly on public welfare projects are the enemies of the prosperity of common man.
PML-N has always upheld decent political values and this is the way to moving Pakistan ahead, he added.
He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-N, on Thursday. The CM said that majority of the population of the country belonged to rural areas and PML-N government considers progress and prosperity of the people of rural populace as its mission.
He said a big programme “Pakiyan Sarkan—Saukhay Panday” has been started for prosperity of the rural population which is a milestone in strengthening rural economy. He said such a big project of construction and rehabilitation of roads has never been started and this project of 150 billion rupees will change the destiny of the rural people.
He said the construction and rehabilitation work of thousands of kilometres of roads at a cost of billions of rupees has been completed. He said looking after and protection of these roads is our national obligation, which will be ensured at any cost.
