Girl commits, husband attempts suicide

TOBA TEK SINGH: A girl committed suicide while her husband attempted the same at Chak 391/JB on Wednesday.

Muhammad Irfan and his wife Alia Parveen, who had contracted marriage three month ago, quarreled over some domestic issue. Later, both husband and wife allegedly took poison to commit suicide. They were rushed to a hospital but Alia died while the condition of Irfan was critical.

LAWYERS HUNGER STRIKE CAMP: DBA president Farrukh Iqbal, general secretary Salman Ghani and other lawyers observed a token hunger strike outside the bar room to protest over alleged misbehaviour of Rajana Food Department purchase centre staff with two lawyers Pervez Khan and his son Umar.

They also protested against Rajana police for registering a case against both father and son. Former Punjab Bar Council member Mian Muhammad Afzal and other lawyers demanded transfer of DPO Rana Shahzad Akbar. The lawyers said that their hunger strike camp would be set up on Thursday also.
