LAHORE
The Lahore High Court on Monday allowed students of class nine to appear in education board’s examination without B-form of Nadra (National Database and Registration Authority).
Justice Ayesha A. Malik passed this interim order on petition of a student who was not allowed by Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education to sit in the exams without submission of B-form. Representing the petitioner, Advocate Sheraz Zaka stated that the board authorities respondents should be inquired under what law the requirement of B-form had been imposed as there was no such law or notification. He said the B-form requirement had been a source of unjust enrichment to secure money.
The counsel argued that when birth certificate already showed the origin and nationality of the students why B-form requirement had been imposed on students who had to face immense difficulty.
The board’s counsel sought time from the court to apprise it of the policy on the matter. Justice Malik postponed hearing for two weeks and directed the board to entertain admission form of students who could not submit B-form.
