Three booked for fake cheques

Three people were booked on charges of fake cheques on Friday.

Accused Waseem Sabir had gotten fertilizer worth Rs 836,000 from Waseem Abbas of Arifwala wood market and gave him a cheque that bounced.

Accused Shahid Saleem had taken fertilizer worth Rs 525,000 from Waseem Abbas of Arifwala grain market and issued him a cheque that bounced.

Accused Ali Akbar purchased a house worth Rs 2,400,000 from Muhammad Shahid of Thana bazaar, Arifwala, and gave him Rs 1,640,000 and a cheque that bounced.

Police registered cases against the accused.

DRUG PEDDLERS HELD: Police Friday arrested drug peddlers and recovered drugs from them.

Police arrested accused Abdul Sattar of Jaman Shah with 1,020 gram charas, accused Abdul Ghaffar of Jaman Shah with 110 gram charas, accused Pervez of Chak 37/SP with 120 gram charas, accused Naseer Ahmad of Ali Bin Sultan with 120 gram charas and accused Ahmad Ali of Chak 58/SP with eight litres liquor.

Police arrested accused Nazir Ahmad of Ballara Dilawar with a shot gun, accused Muhammad Tanveer of Ballara Dilawar also with a shot gun and accused Muhammad Aamar of Jewan Shah with a pistol. Police have registered cases.

POWER OUTAGE SCHEDULE: According to a press statement of the SDO Mecpo, the electricity in areas of grid station Pakpattan (city Pakpattan and adjoining areas) and Noorpur will remain suspended from 7:30am to 11:30am for necessary repairing on April 30 (today).

ESCAPES: An accused fled with the help of his accomplice on Friday.

Reportedly, police on a tip-off raided Zianagar, Arifwala, to arrest accused Muhammad Ramzan but he was alerted by his accomplice Abdul Ghaffar and fled. Police registered a case.
