1,800 handcarts confiscated by TMA

Rawalpindi: Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Rawal Town under its grand anti encroachment operation has confiscated 1800 handcarts and counters during last one month.

According to TMA Rawal Town PRO, the staff under the supervision of Town Municipal Officer (TMO) Mir Akmal, Town Officer Regulation (TOR) Malik Toseef Ahmed and Superintendent Pervaiz Mughal conducted raids at several markets and roads in Bara Bazar,  Murree Road, Raja Bazar, Commercial Market, Saidpur Road, Iqbal Road, Bohar Bazar, Jamia Masjid Road and Gunjmandi and confiscated goods of a large number of encroachers hampering flow of traffic.

Fines were also imposed on the violators he added.

He said on the directive of the Rawal Town Administrator Imran Qureshi the enforcement staff has accelerated the anti encroachment operation and confiscated goods including handcarts and counters which were broken.

No relaxation would be given to anyone he said.

He informed TMA teams are making hectic efforts to remove encroachments from the city roads to provide relief to the commuters.

Raids are being conducted on regular basis and action in accordance with the law is being taken against them.  Six to seven truckloads of 60-70 rules violators are being confiscated daily he added.
