4,000 litres of chemical-mixed milk wasted
Islamabad
A team of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on Tuesday wasted 4,000 litres of chemical mixed milk after its checking from the laboratory, sources said.
The Islamabad district administration foiled a bid to market thousands of litres of chemical-mixed milk.
AC Saddar Captain (r) Ali Ashhar along with Magistrate Abdul Hadi intercepted a tanker loaded with milk of unknown origin near Tarnol.
Food Inspector Raja M. Ashraf was also called on the spot, who carried chemical examination of milk.
During the course of examination, it was revealed that the milk was mixed with urea and tested positive.
The milk was wasted and the persons involved were arrested.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against the accused under relevant sections of PPC and Pure Food Ordinance 1960 at the Tarnol Police Station.
Sources said that milk being brought from Bhera was to be supplied in twin cities, which was wasted by the team after laboratory test.
