Lawyer gets jail in contempt of court case

PESHAWAR: A local court on Tuesday awarded 10-day jail and imposed Rs1000 fine on a lawyer in a contempt of court case.
Additional District and Sessions Judge, Peshawar, Asif Jadoon, awarded 10 days sentence to a lawyer Fakharyab Khan on the charges of misbehaviour with a female civil judge, Tahreema Sabahat, during hearing of a case.
He was also directed to pay Rs1000 fine.As per the state lawyer, the female civil judge, had filed a complaint with the Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel few months ago against the lawyer, in which she claimed that the lawyer had insulted her.The lawyer said that the PHC chief justice then referred the complaint to District and Sessions Judge Peshawar.
