As many as 843 vehicles would be divided between Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) and Capital Development Authority (CDA) keeping in view the number of wings and directorates to be administered by the two institutions.

Deputy Mayor Syed Zeeshan Naqvi told this correspondent that there are 843 vehicles — 481 small and 362 heavy — and all of these would be divided between IMC and CDA in line with the formula approved by the special committee.

An official said out of total 31 ambulances only one would be used by CDA and remaining would be given to IMC that would be entrusted with the task to provide emergency services to the residents of the city.

According to the Local Government Act, the mayor is the executive head of IMC who will provide a leadership vision to the IMC in consultation and coordination with other government agencies.  The official said the services of nearly 10,000 CDA and ICT administration employees, currently working in 49 wings and directorates, would be surrendered to IMC.
