ANP calls for FCR abolition
BARA: Awami National Party (ANP) General Secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain has called for abolition of the Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR).
He was addressing a public meeting at the residence of the Awami National Party provincial vice-president Imran Afridi in the Bara tehsil at Bar Qambarkhel. The ANP leader said the tribesmen had rendered sacrifices along with the security forces in the war against militants in the Federal Administrated Tribal Areas (Fata).
“Almost 40 countries are funding the Islamic State (IS) militant organisation which get benefits and disturbs the peace and tranquility in the Pakhtun belt,” he added. The ANP leader said the operation in Punjab was one of the important steps to stamp out militancy from the country. Mian Iftikhar said the law-enforcement agencies were playing an important role in eliminating militancy to restore peace in the country.
