Police arrest two men in kidnap, murder case
Karachi
Police arrested on Tuesday two suspects for kidnapping a man a month ago and murdering him and also found the victim’s corpse.
SITE Super Highway station investigation officer Mohammad Aslam said a woman, Moti, a resident of Sohrab Goth, had approached police on April 1 and told them that her son, Bahawal, a labourer who was married and had three children, had left home on March 3 with her brother’s son, Nadir, and his friends Ghaus Bux and Imam Bux.
When Bahawal did not reach home at night and his cell phone too was switched off, she contacted Nadir, who replied that Bahawal had left several hours ago.
The officer said the woman nominated Nadir, Ghaus, Imam Bux and others for kidnapping her son. The police registered an FIR and referred the case to an investigation team.
The investigation team tracked the accused on Monday night and conducted a raid. Nadir and Ghaus Bux were arrested and shifted them to the investigation unit. During interrogation, Nadir confessed to kidnapping Bahawal and then murdering him.
Nadir told the police that he along with his friends had taken Bahawal to an empty plot situated near Lyari Expressway, where he stabbed him with a knife several times. Then they buried Bahawal’s body there.
The officer said the police reached the plot and dug up Bahawal’s decomposed body which was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a postmortem. Nadir told the police that he suspected Bahawal of having an affair with his wife.
