Violence on women, children protested
TIMERGARA: Activists of various political parties and traders on Saturday staged protest at Chakdarra against alleged violence on women and children by Lower Dir district administration and Levies personnel in a property case.
Representatives of Adenzai Qaumi Jirga (AQJ), Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Awami National Party (ANP), Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and local traders union participated in the protest.
Speaking on the occasion, QWP MPA Bakht Baidar Khan, ANP Lower Dir president Hussain Shah Yousoufzai, JUI-F leader Maulana Gul Rahim, JI tehsil naib nazim Adenzai Maddat Khan, former district president PTI Fakhruzzaman and president Chakdarra traders union Khwaja Faizul Ghafoor condemned violence on citizens and termed the act as barbaric. “Nobody will be allowed to usurp the rights of citizens,” he added.
Later, Ihsanullah, an affectee, accused the district administration of encroaching on his land. He claimed to have purchased the land from the granddaughter of former Nawab of Dir.
