Students hold awareness walk
MANSEHRA: The students of various schools on Saturday organised an awareness walk to highlight the importance of trees to make the environment clean.
“The ruthless cutting of trees is the main cause of landslide. We can only save people by planting more trees,” Javed Arshad, the conservator of Watershed Department in Hazara, told participants of the walk.
The walk, which was started from Kashmir oad, was culminated at Nisar Bagh, a tourist resort, after marching through various routes.
The participants of rally, who were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans regarding importance of trees and environment, also marched at Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad road, which leads to scenic Kaghan valley.
The children of Mansehra Public School, Kohsar Children Academy and Jamal Public School planted saplings under “a child a tree programme” at Nisar Bagh.
