CPEC to change Pakistan future: CM
Says metro train to revolutionise public transport

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will change the future of Pakistan and it is unprecedented evidence of friendship between the two countries.
He was addressing a certificate distribution ceremony of engineers who completed the first phase of training for the Sahiwal coal power project from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, in collaboration with Chinese energy company Huang Shandong Ruyi, on the UET main campus.
He said that offers and services of China in the energy sector of Pakistan were strengthening relations between the countries and would eliminate the power crisis in Pakistan and provide relief to industry and the masses.
According to a press release issued here by UET, the CM urged youths to learn skills to ensure a bright future of Pakistan.
"The friendship between both countries is playing a role in the progress of the region which is a dire need of the hour," he added.
Talking about the Orange Line Metro Train, the chief minister said that the project would bring about revolution in public transport and thousands of people would benefit from it.
"China is fully funding the project for the betterment of people of Pakistan and the loan will have to be returned to China in 20 years on minimum rate of interest." He considered the learning of the Chinese language as an essential element for the success and real destination of China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
"In this regard, 500 selected students from schools, colleges and universities will be sent to China. Students with distinction and good grades will get attractive jobs," he added.
UET Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said that trends of the modern world must be followed to realise true dreams of concrete development.
