President for Jihad against corruption
ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain Tuesday urged young generation to wage jihad against corruption to rid the country of quagmire of problems.
The president in a meeting with a delegation of the Young Parliamentarian Forum which called on him here at the Aiwan-i-Sadr said eliminating corruption was essential to rid the country of all the ills. He asked the people for accountability of the corrupt and urged the young parliamentarians to play their role in this regard, a press release said.
Mamnoon said Pakistan is a great country but the unscrupulous elements promoted corruption and bad governance causing despair in the youth which was exploited by vested groups to lead the country in the wrong direction.
The president said Pakistan’s future is linked with democracy as dictatorships have always added to the problems and led the country astray. The president advised the delegation of young parliamentarians led by president of the forum Alam Dad Laleka and General Secretary Ms Shaza Fatima Khawaja to gain experience in parliamentary affairs and play active role in its proceedings as country’s future lay in their hands.
