Transport allowed
LAHORE
The Lahore High Court on Monday allowed transport and pick & drop facilities to disabled members of Cosmopolitan Club, observing that if the parliamentarians are enjoying all facilities at club but the same are not being provided to disabled persons.
Justice Shahid Karim issued this order on the petition of disabled businessman Mian Tanvir. The petitioner pleaded that assembly members were allowed to use vehicles till the last door of the club while disabled persons had to use different means to reach their destination. He pointed out that law is already in the field and it only needs enforcement.
The Punjab government law officer contended that if the facilities are being provided to disabled persons at one park it does not mean that same facilities should be given at all parks.
The court; however, did not agree with him and directed the authorities concerned to provide all facilities to disabled person at the club.
