KBD lie

The 1991 Water Accord to settle issues arising out among provinces over the distribution of water in all future storages was a feather in Mian Sahib’s cap. But despite the lapse of quarter of a century we are not able to build a single dam. To avoid any controversy, the accord does not give names to dams. Recently, opposition leader Khursheed Shah has made a frivolous statement that if the Kalabagh Dam is built, Sindh would become a desert. This is a mega lie in that the dam will not consume water but store it.
Sindh will get an equal share of 37 percent in the stored water as Punjab. The Kalabagh Dam will store rainwater of five rivers that converge at Attock, in addition to glacier water.
